Just on the
outskirts of the restaurant row which is Franschhoek, this is
attempting to be a cut above. Only problem is, the rest are so
good anyway that a few posh bells and whistles doesn't really make much
odds. The draw here isn't really the food, which is mighty fine,
intead, it's all about the view. You sit looking across the
lawns, over the vineyard, to the protective hillsides which made the
Hugenots stop here and .set up camp in the first place. So, in
short, a good place to soak up the character of the town while dining
(well lunching, they're not open at night) on quality restaurant
fare. No more, no less.
