A bit of a wobble down Western road over the Christmas period finds us right on the border squeezing 6 of us into this tiny Thai cafeteria. It's a pretty simple operation and the BYO policy makes it even more simple (and cheap). But do you really want table cloths and staff in traditional costume when you're out for some hot Thai treats. If you do, fine, go to King & I. If you just want to eat some good strong spicy S.E. Asian classics then give the little devil a go.
We started with a round of Som Tam salads which were really very hot as they should be but possibly too much for some. A selection of ducks, peanuts, noodles, rices followed, all good and rich and a little less fierce than the super chilli heatwave starters.
The staff are friendly and efficient, its crowded in there but the food comes quickly enough, just enjoy another one of the beers you brought yourself while you wait and finish off the meal with a bill that matches the restaurant space in size. Less than a tenner each for a good meal out, hard to argue with that.
