This might not be the best
mexican restaurant in the world. It's certainly not the
worst. It is however the one where I've had the best
evening. It all started well anyway, the range of lethal chilli
sauces on the table with danger-of-death symbols and chemistry set
droppers made me smile. The menu is short and fun and the local
take on fajetas is well presented and pretty much faultless.
Then, then we got to the back page. It was covered in tequila
tasting plates. Three shots of selected brands going up each
range from Reposado through Anejo and on to Superior. If I'd
drunk too much and died that night I would have been in heaven
already. This was my first encounter with Heradura Anejo which
had become my favourite of all spirits, especially now that it's
available from a few select stockists over here. Doubtless this
makes my review hopelessly biased but if you're in Wellington and you
fancy some spice, alot of laughs and the finest tequila selection in
the southern hemisphere, you know where to go now, don't you.
